Fighting acne is as much an emotional experience as a physical one. People coping with acne often feel like they’re on an emotional roller coaster. Blemishes pop up out of nowhere, treatments stop working, and promises of cures don’t deliver. It’s frustrating to say the least.
To get rid of acne, make sure you are getting a good night’s sleep every night. Sleep is what your body needs to repair itself from the wear and tear of the day, and this also holds true for your skin. If you are already on medication for acne, this also allows ample time for it to work so that you can see results in the next day.
Remember, acne is not caused by dirt, so there is no necessity to over-wash. Scrubbing and washing your face will not make the acne go away and will just tend to dry out healthy skin and irritate acne-prone area. Over-washing may also stimulate extra oil production resulting in more breakouts. Limit your face washing to two or three times per day.
Keep your hands to yourself. Touching, poking and popping pimples will not get rid of them, really. While this might make them look better temporarily, the reality is this practice can lead to permanent scarring.
Baking soda is quite good at absorbing oil and drying skin out. Mix some baking soda with some water to form a paste, and then put the paste on your face and let it sit for five minutes or until it dries. After it dries, just wash it off. This will clean your skin and also get rid of the oil. The baking soda will also dry out any acne on the face and kill any bacteria, which can make the acne go away faster.
Keep in mind that one of the more important uses of water in the body is the elimination of waste products. If you don’t have enough water, your body will conserve what water it does have for the most critical uses, like keeping your blood from thickening. That means that somewhat less critical things, like carrying away undesirable materials that build up in your skin, will not be taken care of.
Whether you are just treating your acne or trying to improve your skin, more vegetables and fruits should be a permanent dominant item in your meals. Your beautiful skin will last much longer, and you can prevent future acne outbreaks. Who would have thought that natural acne remedies would include eating more vegetables, but it does.
